National Geographic magazine has published a list of the most beautiful towns in Spain that “deserve a trip in 2023” and two of them are in the province of Alicante, specifically in Marina Baixa. These are two common towns in this type of listing: Guadalest and Altea.

Alicante-Elche airport among the 100 best in the world and the 5th in Spain

The Alicante airport has been the 66th best valued aerodrome in the world in 2022 but has lost 5 places since 2019 due to the stoppage it suffered due to the covid. Alicante-Elche appears in 66th place among the best airports in the world in the 2022 Airhelp ranking.

Best weather october on record

Last month was the hottest October in Spain since records began in 1961, with an average temperature of 18ºC.

It beat the previous record, from October 2017, by 0.8ºC, according to state weather agency Aemet.

The figure was 3.6ºC higher than the average for the period of reference (1981-2010).

Five months of summer and high tourist season in Alicante and Benidorm

Climatology confirms that the hottest season of the year already invades part of spring and autumn on the Costa Blanca. Five months of summer in Alicante and Benidorm, and stretches the tourist season. The Mediterranean Sea continues with unusually high temperatures, with values ranging between 22-24 ºC.

Shake-up for entry procedures to Spain

SOME Covid-19 paperwork checks at Spain’s borders were eliminated this week.

The ministry for health noted that with effect from Tuesday it was no longer necessary for travellers from non-EU countries to fill in the form at the Spain Travel Health (SpTH) website when they enter the country by air or sea.

The decision has been taken due to the ‘evolution of the pandemic around the world’ and to ‘facilitate international travel’.

Summer at 100% in Tabarca

Tabarca has become the queen of getaways from Thursday to Sunday. Hotels and restaurants are at 100% this summer, following the trend that the tourism sector has in the province in July with week starts where there is still a place to eat but not so much to sleep. The island recovers the tourist pulse after the summers of the pandemic.
