A study positions Alicante as the fourth best destination in the world for a getaway. Alicante is the fourth best coastal and urban destination in the world. This has been revealed by a study carried out by Compare the Market, an Australian website specialized in travel, which has classified the 35 main coastal cities in the world based on factors such as the number of available leisure activities, restaurants, beaches, Instagram posts, safety and average annual temperatures.

Flights at Alicante airport return to 2019 figures

The terminal recovers the figures of the best tourist year in history. Aena schedules 875 flights in Alicante for this weekend with a total of 155,000 passengers. The progressive lifting of restrictions on mobility due to the pandemic and the desire to travel, after two years of closure, have made it possible for the airport to have recovered almost 100% of the operations it had in 2019 in the first five months of the year .

Good temperature and sunny skies this weekend in Alicante

The sun will shine throughout the day and there will be a considerable increase in temperatures in several areas of the province

Weather in Benidorm, Denia and Torrevieja: Maximum temperatures are around 21 degrees while the minimums reach up to 15 degrees. In the early hours there will be some high clouds but they will soon dissipate and the sun will shine throughout the day.

The airports serving Alicante province and Murcia region are seeing a return to passenger numbers which are similar to those recorded in 2019 – before the Covid pandemic decimated air travel. Hotels and apartments expect to reach 90% occupancy from Holy Thursday with spring weather. Figures at Easter will almost reach the pre-pandemic level in Alicante.

Murcia celebrates its Spring Festival

For seven days, the city of Murcia offers one of the greatest shows in the Spanish southeast, highlighting its close relationship with horticulture and its traditions: the celebrations have been declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest.

The Murcia Spring Festival has been declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest. This year the festival will be held from April 17 to 24, beginning on Easter Sunday at the end of Holy Week. Then Murcia dresses up and celebrates the beginning of spring and the end of Lent. The most symbolic festivities are the procession “Bando de la Huerta”, the battle of flowers “Batalla de las Flores” and the symbolic burial of the sardine “Entierro de la Sardina”.
