Murcia celebrates its Spring Festival

For seven days, the city of Murcia offers one of the greatest shows in the Spanish southeast, highlighting its close relationship with horticulture and its traditions: the celebrations have been declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest.

The Murcia Spring Festival has been declared a Festival of International Tourist Interest. This year the festival will be held from April 17 to 24, beginning on Easter Sunday at the end of Holy Week. Then Murcia dresses up and celebrates the beginning of spring and the end of Lent. The most symbolic festivities are the procession “Bando de la Huerta”, the battle of flowers “Batalla de las Flores” and the symbolic burial of the sardine “Entierro de la Sardina”.
